And now a bit about the Marketing Manager role

Reporting to the GM Marketing and Customer Experience, the role of the Marketing Manager is to drive brand awareness and revenue for Melbourne Sports Centres, while leading the development and implementation of the marketing strategy across both digital and traditional channels. Acting as the brand and customer custodian, you live and breathe the customer experience and journey.

Leading a small team, and with a passion for leadership and culture, the Marketing Manager will work closely with the Digital Specialist and Marketing Co-ordinator to create the marketing and communications strategy and market efficient campaigns. The role requires you to have a love for analytics and insights to drive sound decision making.  

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Development of marketing and communications strategy to drive revenue and improve retention, across all channels (digital and traditional)
  • Work closely with stakeholders to manage the website and deliver CX optimisation
  • Develop and manage all aspects of campaign planning and execution
  • Motivate, lead and develop the Marketing team to deliver against the annual plan
  • Lead communications internally and externally
  • Develop annual marketing budget and manage monthly to achieve targets
  • Design and lead on-going tracking and analytical tools/frameworks that deliver purposeful reporting to deliver broader business intelligence to shape strategic direction

Required skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or related discipline
  • 7+ years’ experience in the marketing space across traditional, digital channels and community engagement
  • Proven analytical ability to develop insights reporting and provide strategic recommendations that support the development of a clear marketing strategy
  • Current knowledge of digital best practice, industry trends and standards
  • Strong conflict negotiation and stakeholder, influencing and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to develop strong working relationships and partnerships at all levels of business
  • Strong time management, project management and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated customer centric approach
  • Proven ability to effectively manage a budget and associated reporting requirements
  • Strong administration skills in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Demonstrated abilities to managing a website, CMS and project development tools
  • Solid experience in leading and developing a team
  • Demonstrated experience in managing end to end projects that are both cross functional and cross business and include multiple stakeholders from all business levels
  • Proven ability in budget management and cost control.
  • Exceptional communication and engagement skills across all business levels
  • Current working with Children Check and Police Check.
